The Libelle was first manufactured in Austria in 1952. The car shown has a rear-mounted single-cylinder 2-stroke Rotax engine of 199cc driving the rear wheel, in fact the whole rear end and drive arrangement resembles a motorcycle. In the front there is an upholstered bench seat for 2 persons and rudimentary controls. There are no doors, entry is via the side flaps which are made of the same material as the rollback roof. The tubular handles at the side are raised to allow entry and egress and act as arm rests to hold you in when the car is in motion. The Libelle was made the opposite side of Austria from the Felber, and had no connection with the Felber, but as a sheer coincidence was painted in exactly the same shade of green paint as the Felber ! Production ceased in 1954.
