Advance

Built by the motorcycle company, Advance Motor Company in Northampton (UK) the Advance tricar was powered by a 6hp water cooled engine that was later uprated to 9hp.  This powered the rear wheel via a chain.

Unusual for the time was the fact that the controls for igntion, air and throttle were all positioned on the steering column.  In 1907 an air-cooled engine was introduced and production continued until 1908.

The 1906 Advance Tricar.
