From 1952 Vernon Industries (UK) had been making Invacars under licence though in 1955 they produced their own vehicle the Vernon Invalid Car. (This was the company’s predecessor to the Gordon.) Powered by a Villiers 8E engine that like the Gordon was placed at the side of the vehicle and powered one of the rear wheels. The vehicle was built with aluminium panels attached to a hard wood frame and received several changes in a MK 2 and Mk 3 version (now powered by a Villiers 9E engine and Dynastart) before manufacture ceased in 1958. No vehicles are known to survive.
