On April 24th 3-wheelers.com was featured in my local newspaper the Tamworth Herald who did an article on the site reaching 200,000 hits. As I live in Tamworth and probably because Reliant was a Tamworth based company for so long the article mainly touched on Reliant rather than 3-wheelers in general. The Herald provided their own photos from their archives.

A Tamworth website dedicated to the world's most famous three wheeled car has become a huge internet success story.

The popular site, originally dedicated to the legendary Reliant Robin but now extended to cover the history of the Tamworth motor manufacturer which ceased production in 1998, has now clocked up over 200,000 hits from enthusiasts around the world.

And it has become so famous among collectors that software giant Microsoft have even added it as a reference point in their Microsoft Encarta Encyclopedia.

Among the 710 pages of information on the site, are many stories from Herald archives on the Reliant factory in Tamworth, first mentioned in the paper in 1935.

The site was set up just two years ago by Glascote resident Elvis Payne, who says his friends all thought it was a joke.

"A lot of my friends laughed and said it would be lucky to get ten hits but within a few months it had 10,000 hits, then 50,000 and then 100,000 and it has now topped 200,000.
