SMZ (Serpuhovsky Motorcikletny Zavod)

Manufactured from 1952 in Serpuhov (USSR) by SMZ the SMZ S1L was a vehicle made for those who had been disabled as a result of World War II. Powered by a 123cc engine that produced 4 BHP, the vehicle was a two seater, two door cabriolet that had a top speed of 19 mph (30 kph). 19,128 vehicles were made when the vehicle was replaced by the more powerful SMZ S3L in 1956.

The S3L was exactly the same vehicle though it was powered by a larger 346cc engine that had 8 BHP creating a top speed of 37mph. (60kph). 17,053 S3L models were created until manufacture ceased in 1958 when the company then concentrated on 4-wheelers.
