Hudson

The Hudson was created by Hudson Component Cars, Norwich (UK) in the late 1980’s. The original vehicle was called the Free Spirit and was a single seater sports car that used the Renault R-5 Le Car as a donor vehicle for all its mechanical parts including the transmission, front suspension and, complete steering assembly, Hudson then provided the chassis and fibreglass body parts. Due to the success of the Free Spirit the chassis was lengthened to accommodate either a second seat or storage space behind the driver’s seat and the vehicle then became the Kindred Spirit. Hudson 3-wheelers in the UK are powered by a number of different engines though the choice was limited to only the 1397cc Renault engine in the USA.

In 1998 the manufacturing license and remaining inventory were sold  and the new owner has not manufactured any new kits since. As well as 3-wheelers Hudson's also developed a prototype 4-wheeler  called the Mystic Spirit.
