The Crouch Carette was first manufactured in Coventry, Warwickshire (UK) by Crouch Cars Ltd in 1912. It was powered by a 1000cc, water cooled Coventry-Simplex V-twin engine. This gave the car is flat appearance at the front of the vehicle. The Carette had 3 forward gears and had the rear wheel powered by a chain. By 1913 the 3-wheeler Carette was replaced by a 4-wheeler which remained in the same form until 1922 when the vehicle was redesigned and produced (as a 4-wheeler) until 1928.
