The Comet was manufactured by the General Developing Company in New York (USA) in 1947. It was powered by a 4.5hp air cooled engine that drove the two rear wheels. Rare for its time the body of the comet was made from plastic that was fitted onto a tubular frame. This lightweight structure (114 inches long) helped give the vehicle a fuel consumption of up to 100.mpg. Production of the vehicle ceased in the same year.
