Under the leadership of Haider Bilgrami, the Ammar Motor Company (based in Karachi, Pakistan) started development of 3-wheelers in 1990 that are produced along with a range of 4-wheelers. The new range of 3-wheelers have been designed whilst assisting the government of Pakistan in their efforts to phase out noise and atmospheric pollution. The vehicles (built in both Pakistan and China) all have eco-friendly, fuel efficient engines. The 1-cylinder 4-stroke water cooled engine combined with a 5 speed gearbox is used throughout the 3-wheeler range. Vehicles come in numerous body types that includes the following models:
The K-SL1: A fully enclosed 5 door vehicle.
The K-SL2: A fully enclosed 4 door vehicle.
The K-SL3 and K-SL4 range: A 4-5 seater open vehicle with fold down roof.
K-SL5 range: A fully enclosed cab with a pickup truck type rear.
K-SL6 range: An open cab (no doors) with a pickup truck type rear.
