Moto Guzzi Mototriciclo 32

Moto Guzzi Mototriciclo 32

Description

1935 Moto Guzzi Mototriciclo 32

Before and during World War II, Moto Guzzi supplied a series of motorcycles and three-wheeled trucks to the Italian army. Loved by the military for their maintainability and relative cheapness, these vehicles represent a major milestone in the history of the Italian armed forces, which were constantly short of equipment and fuel.

The Mototriciclo 32 was the first three-wheeler used by the Italian Army during World War II. It was introduced in 1935 when Italy occupied East Africa and was quickly recognized by the Army for its high levels of maneuverability and reliability, coupled with good payload capacity.

An interesting tricycle option was the field radio. This "accessory" was designed in the 1930s by Allocchio Bacchini specifically for the Italian army and was a very useful communication tool between the front and general staff. Curiously enough, just a few years before that communication was carried out by means of carrier pigeons.

The Mototriciclo 32 was produced for only three years, from 1933 to 1936. Specially for the military 935 models were produced, but only 163 civilian ones.
