The Mosquito (The 4th to be made) ( My thanks go to David Buckley for this photo of his vehicle and for the data on this page)

Mosquito

Description

The Mosquito was manufactured by Moss of Kidlington, Oxford  (UK) during the 1970's. A total of seven vehicles were made that were based on a Mini engine, gearbox suspension and single trailing arm rear. The body was manufactured from fibreglass with a high quality gel coat.  Of the seven vehicles built two  were powered by 850cc Mini engines, two with a 998cc engine, two  with 1275cc engines and one powered by a 1275GT engine.  It is  believed that the company needed to submit several cars to the Government at the time for crash testing which stopped further vehicles being produced. The vehicle was copied a few years later by Triad.
