A 1952 Felber

A 1952 Felber

Felber

Description

The Felber was first manufactured in Vienna (Austria) in 1952. The vehicle almost had a “bubble” shaped steel body that was to become popular just a few years later.  Power for the Felber came from a two-stroke 400cc opposed twin Rotax engine which powered the rear wheel.  Very few Felbers were produced as manufacture stopped in 1953.

Felber Autoroller T 400, a three wheeled microcar with a rear mounted 398 cc Rotax two cylinder opposed twin two stroke 15 horsepower engine. It had room for three, one in the front, a kid size and adult size seat behind him. The company was really well known for making motorcycle side cars, but this one was sold between 1952-53, with 400 being made in that time, all of which were painted light green here. After the liberalization of car imports into Austria in 1954, it just was uncompetitive to keep making these, and they began producing washing machines instead, while moving into car sales for brands like Heinkel, Trojan, Spatz, and Reliant. As far as we know for sure today, only three are confirmed to still exist.
