Ballistic BlissDescriptionHere's Ballistic Bliss. The SK Bombardiers Soapbox Team built their kart, Ballistic Bliss, completely from scratch in the spring of 2023. The name of the kart, Ballistic Bliss, pays tribute to one of the main drivers behind the team which was to raise money for the Bliss charity. A charity which has helped 2 very good friends of the team in their time of need. The design is based on the 3 wheel roadster produced by the Morgan Motor Company between 2011 and 2021. The karts main frame is constructed entirely from steel box section for strength and ease of repair in the event of damage. The bodywork is made as a combination of fiber glass and lightweight aluminum panels. BB, as she’s affectionately known within the team has undergone continuous improvement over the past 3 seasons of racing. Originally constructed as a fully rigid set up with a very basic steering mechanism; she was given a makeover for the start of the 2024 season with a fully adjustable double wishbone suspension system on the front and a proper steering rack. Additions later in the season included upgrades to the brakes, aerodynamic additions to the wheels and underfloor to try and reduce drag and several iterations of push bar to make the most of the very short push starts common to the racing events. It took a few events for the team to fully realize the benefits of all the upgrades; with performance improving at each race as they learned how to set up the kart. This culminated with the teams first win at their home event in Stockport. Further improvements are on the drawing board; these are going to focus on improving the aerodynamics of the kart even further, which will likely mean straying from her now iconic look but will still stay true to the original Morgan roadster. Current wins at Stockport 2024, Bradford 2025 and Crewe 2025. Click here for their Facebook page Detailed Information
