Competition 1 (Now Closed)

Win a Limited Edition Scammell Scarab model.

On April 23rd 3-Wheelers.com was proud to receive its 100,000th hit since its launch in July 2000. Thank you for your continued support in making this possible.  To help celebrate this occasion a competition was set up to win a limited edition model of a Scammell Scarab 3-wheeler worth £16.95 (approx $23.83 (USA) /€26.60)

The Answer

The competition received 43 entries and 27 people got the correct answer which was of course, “Mechanical Horse”.  This was the animal that the Scammell 3-wheeler prior to the Scammell Scarab was named after; and for all those of you who wondered, yes, the answer could be found on my Scammell page in the A-Z section.

The Draw

The draw took place on May 24th 2002 and the winner was notified the same day but three emails later the winner still did not respond. The prize therefore goes to the second name that was drawn out of the hat on the same day and that was Barry Frost from Surrey (UK). So congratulations Barry.

The prize has been sent to Barry and he informs me that it is now sitting on top of his television set. A 3-wheeler fan Barry has been visiting 3-wheelers.com for about a year now and has had four Reliants over the years and he currently drives a Reliant Rialto, though this is replaced on sunny days by his motorcycle.  The Scammell Scarab model, Brian writes, will go nicely with his other models.

The Prize; a Corgi Scammell Scarab.

There will be more competitions in the future so if you was unlucky this time please try again in the next one.
